Golf is a rotational sport, and targeted exercise - even two or three sessions a week - can add distance, improve consistency, and reduce injury risk. For Hong Kong golfers playing through the summer heat, physical preparation matters even more.

Hip Mobility

Restricted hip mobility is one of the most common physical limitations we see at GOLFTEC Hong Kong. When the hips cannot rotate freely, the body compensates in ways that hurt both power and accuracy. Hip circles, pigeon stretches, and half-kneeling hip flexor stretches are excellent starting points.

Core Stability

A stable core is the foundation of a repeatable swing. Planks, side planks, and Pallof presses build the core strength that translates directly to the golf course.

Thoracic Spine Rotation

Many Hong Kong golfers - particularly those in desk-based roles in the city's financial and legal sectors - have restricted thoracic rotation. Without it, the body cannot make a full backswing. Thoracic rotation drills using a foam roller can make a noticeable difference.

Glute Strength

Strong glutes power the lower body through impact. Single-leg deadlifts, glute bridges, and lateral band walks all target this area effectively.

Two sessions a week of twenty to thirty minutes, consistently, will produce meaningful changes over three to four months. Book a lesson at GOLFTEC Hong Kong and ask how physical limitations might be affecting your swing.
